چکیده

The inter-story drift ratio (IDR) is a crucial parameter in structural health monitoring to judge the safety, stability, and serviceability of buildings. Real-time, continuous, widely applicable detection on IDRs essential. However, current methods present some challenges conducting such detection, including adverse effects from weather, requirement for large amounts space, fragile instruments. This study proposes an alternative method overcome these defects measure evaluate conditions using ambient noise recordings. Ambient random continuous wave signal with various sources modified by its propagating medium. Taking Zhonghe Building campus Tongji University, Shanghai, China, as example, 24 three-component seismometers were deployed capture record continuously 20 November 2021 9 December 2021. Using analysis polarization parameters during building’s most dangerous time ordinary time, deflection curve, IDRs, harmful calculated. computed maximum was 0.06 m, IDR 1.140×10−3, −2.573×10−4. These results compared relevant specifications it found that structure good condition. high applicability continuity real underscores need further research achieve localized real-time system.

Estimating the inter-story drift in high rise buildings with the flexural and shear cantilever beam and mode-acceleration method

In this study, the seismic inter-story drift of structures is estimated by a combination of mode-acceleration equations with the modelling of high-rise buildings with flexural and shear cantilever beams. In the equation presented for calculating the inter-story drift, having less knowledge of the building is adequate and this issue is of significance in estimating the nonstructural component fo...

Landscape assessment of high-rise buildings: A method based on 3DGIS, BIM and AHP

In this paper, we propose a quantitative indicator for measuring and ranking real estate from the perspective of the surrounding landscape by integrating the building information model (BIM) and the three-dimensional geospatial information system (3DGIS) based on the AHP method. The landscape is one of the qualitative variables which it's measuring and quantifying is a complex task. In previous...

COST ESTIMATION OF HIGH PERFORMANCE CONCRETE (HPC) HIGH- RISE COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS BY NEURAL NETWORKS High-rise commercial buildings

Neural network approach is applied to establish relationships between the quantities/cost of the concrete/formwork, which is required for the structural elements of tall buildings using high performance concrete (HPC), and the design variables. Hybrid and hierarchical strategies are proposed for the cost estimation, where the feed-forward networks are adopted. After training, the neural network...

A blind signal-to-noise ratio estimator for high noise speech recordings

Blind estimation of the signal-to-noise ratio in noisy speech recordings is useful to enhance the performance of many speech processing algorithms. Most current techniques are efficient in low noise environments only, justifying the need for a high noise estimator, such as the one presented here. A pitch tracker robust in high noise was developed and is used to create a two-dimensional represen...
